6.5mm / 0.255″ thick Guitar / Bass top set. Length and width can be seen in photographs using the tape measures along the left hand and bottom edge of the photography board.
Insanely rare and absolutely stunning! Claro Walnut Burl drop top bookmatched set. If you’re looking for something truly special to use as a top on that dream build, then it doesn’t get much better than this! These sets are shown in the photographs sprayed with a bit of Naphtha to help show the true colour and figure of the set. But, it is still a long way off just how amazing these sets will look once properly sanded and oiled or lacquered!
This wood will take a fantastic finish and make for an absolutely stunning instrument.
Walnut burl can be tricky to work with, it can be fragile during clamping and may have open voids or bark incursions that may require filling or resin work. It is also important to store these sets very carefully by storing them ‘on stick’ until they are ready to be used. Due to these reasons its probably not the best wood to use for beginners.
