Superbly rare and incredible quality, these Alaskan Yellow Cedar book-matched Soundboards are something else. The tap tone is simply incredible, perfect pure colouration and superbly tight growth rings. What makes these sets so rare? Alaskan Yellow Cedar is usually only available in fairly narrow pieces, and its next to impossible to get it in quarter sawn cut. The slabs that these tops were cut from were bang on 8″ wide before being machined, and perfectly quarter sawn, making it as rare as hens teeth!
These are 2-piece book-matched sets, with each half being bang on 200mm wide (7.87″) – So they will suit most OM / Classical / 0 / 00 / 000 sized acoustic guitars.
This is truly world class stock that will create some world class instruments.
These sets have been professionally bookmatched, and sanded to 120 grit each side, down to a finished thickness of 4mm (0.157″). The inside edges have been passed over a jointer.
