Ancient Quilted Redwood Full Slab – HUGE!
A very rare opportunity to own a huge and absolutely stunning piece of history. This Ancient Quilted Redwood slab is between 2500 and 3000 years old! Cut from one of the true giants of the Californian coast. The giant Redwood that yielded this slab naturally fell over 100 years ago after reaching full maturity.
This slab has the full natural edge along the front edge. Beautiful quilted figuring that runs through both sides of the slab. Fully solid, and dry making this ready to use. The images show the slab from both sides. Taken from different angles to show how the figure flips and changes. The slab is entirely solid, and has no imperfections.
This Ancient Quilted Redwood Slab has been wiped with Naphtha to show the true colour and grain show fully. (Naptha is a mineral spirit which does not affect the wood, and evaporates within a few moments). Flattened and sanded to 120g on both sides, making it ready to work with.
This slab would make for an absolutely incredible bar top, table or side board top. Or it could be cut to yield many guitar making billets. The possibilities are endless!
