Ovangkol, also known as Shedua and Amazique is a wonderful wood with vibrant black and gold streaks.
The slab that yielded these beautiful sets has a stunning and very rare type of figure known as ‘Bees-wing’ figure, which is very holographic. Once lacquered these will flip and change as you tilt the finished instrument and look really amazing.
